from Madina.
The six years old child, who had been bereaved of his father before birth, was now left without the affectionate care this mother. But the Merciful
Lord, in whose care this orphan was being brought up, is Independent of these causes.
Abdul Muttalib's Demise
After his parents, he come under the guardianship of his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib, But Almighty
Allah wanted to let the world know that this promising lad was directly under His Merciful care. The also cause of all causes had Himself become his Guardian.
When he become two months and eight year old, his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib
also died.
First Journey to Syria
After the grandfather's demise, his real uncle, Abu Talib, become his guardian, whit whom
he started living. When he was two months and twelve years old, Abu Talib made up his mind for a trade trip to Syria, and then let the Prophet also accompany in the
trip. On their way to Syria they stayed at Teema.
A Scholarly Jew's Prediction about the Prophet
During his stay at Teema a renowned Jew scholar, Baheera Rahib, passed by the
Prophet just by chance, but when he looked at him he asked Abu Talib "Who is this boy with you?" Abu Talib repaid " He is my nephew."
Baheera said. " Have you soon any compassion with him and do you want to protect him?" Abu Talib replied, " Surely!" "On hearing
it, Baheera swore by God and said, "If you take him to Syria along with you, the Jews will kill him, because he is the Prophet of God, who shall abrogate the
religion of the Jews. I find his attributes in my Divine Scripture without any ambiguity.
"Since Baheera an Ascetic was the scholar of Torah contained and the Torah on exhaustive expression of Prophet Muhammad's
personality in Torah, he recognised him as that very last prophet, who would abrogate Torah and cut Abu Talib felt some danger after heating Baheera and sent the
Prophet back Mecca.
Second Trade Trip to Syria
Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her) was a wealthy, (remarkably) experienced and wise lady in
Mecca. She used to entrust her merchandise to intelligent and trustworthy persons for sale at different places after fixation of their respective shares. The
Messenger of Allah ( Prophet Muhammad) peace be upon him, though his prophethood was not yet declared, was most famous for his honesty and trust among all the people
of Mecca. Everyone had great regard for his distinguished noble character. He was well-known as 'Ameen' (Turstworthy). Khadijah was not unaware of his fame and
greatness. Therefore, she desired to entrust her merchandise to him in order to benefit herself from his honesty. She sent a message to the Messenger of Allah ( peace
be upon him) saying, "If you agree to take my merchandise to Syria for trade, I shell send with you a slave for your service, and serve you with a share bigger
than that offered to others. " Since he was a courageous and broadminded gentleman, he readily agreed for such a long journey and he left for Syria on the
16th Dhil-Hijjah with Khadijah salve Maisarah. He intelligently sold the merchandise with immenes profit and returned form Syria after purchasing different
merchandise from there. When he reached Mecca, he handed over the new merchandise to Khadijah, who earned nearly double profit by selling it.
While the Prophet was staying at some place on his way to Syria, an ascetic, named Nastoor, was him
and having noticed in him all the indications written in the old Scriptures, recognsied him as the last of the prophet. The ascetic knew Maisarah adn he asked him,
"Who is this person with you?" He replied," He belongs to Mecca and is a noble youngman of Quraish" The ascetic said, "He shall be a prophet.
Marriage with
Khadijah
Khadijah was an intelligent and wise lady. Having seen his nobility and wonderful character, she
had full confidence in the prophet and a sincere liking for him. She herself made up her mind to give herself in her wedlock if he agreed to it. When the Holy Prophet
(peace be upon him) was twenty-one years old ,marriage was fixed with Khadijah, who was forty yare old at that time.
There are different versions
about Holy Prophet's age at time marriage 52 , 27 and Khadija was forty five years old
Abu Talib, and the Chiefs of Banu Hashim and Mudar tribe, all participated in the marriage
ceremony. Abu Talib recited the Khutbah of Nikah (solemnizational address of marriage) and the words used by Abu Talib in this Khutbah about the Holy Prophet (peace
be upon him) deserve attention. Following is the translation.
" He is Muhammad bin bin Abdullah who though low in financial status. yet if compared with anyone in noble
character and higher qualities, shall be found at a level far higher, because the worldly wealth is a declining shadow and thing that shifts from hand to hand. And
here is Muhammad, whose relationship with me, you all know. He wants to marry Khadijah, daughter of Khaulah. His whole dower whether payable instantly raid or
deferred on shall be paid out of may wealth. And by God, he is going to command great respect and honour afterwards."
Abu Talib uttered these words in favour of the Holy Prophet, when he was twenty-one and
the office of his prophethood had not yet been announced publically. On to of this, Abu Talib himself was following the same old religion to eliminate which the whole
life of the Holy Prophet was devoted. But the fact is that truth cannot be concealed. However, Khadijah remained in his company and served him for twenty-four years,
partly before the beginning of revelation and partly afterwards.
Prophet Children by Khadijah
He had two sons and four daughters by Khadijah Qasin and Tahir were his honored
sons. The well-known Kuniyat Kuniyat is the second name of any
person, among the Arabs. which contanins the word Abu (father of) or the Ibne (son of) or Binte (daughter) as prefix before the name of this son , father or mother.
of the Prophet was 'Abul-Qasim' after the name of his son Qasim. It is said about Tahir that his actual name was Abdullah. Fatima , Zainab, Ruqayyah and Umm-e-Kalthoom
were his for daughters (May Allah be pleased with all of them). Zainab was
his eldest daughter.
Whereas all these children were born by Khadijah his third son Ibraheem was by Mariyah Qabtiyah. All the three sons of the prophet died in their childhood. However, it is said about Qasim
